ASTRON FALCON
Our first "scratch" rocket build. There's hundreds
of rocket kits that have come and gone but some rocketeers have made it
their mission to keep discontinued kits alive. The Estes
Astron Falcon is a Boost Glider. It ascends on a rocket motor and glides
down. There's a skullfull of tricky calculations needed to make this fly
right. Thanks again to the contributors at the
rocketry forum for helpful hints and suggestions along the way and to
Dad who turned the nosecone in his shop. Seems like we've got it trimmed
for glide phase pretty well though we're waiting for the perfect weather
opportunity to test it under power. The plans
