On a recent expedition to the beer store, we noticed this sign which appears to be a relic from as early as the 1600s...To our knowledge, we've never parked the Honda next to a Patroon yet this geographical location puts us about 2 miles from the Hudson River...It started to become clear...by the Wikipedia definition of Patroon we are residing in a former Patroonship. That explains those three cornered hats, puffy shirts and trousers that many of the locals wear. The accompanying sign also is clear evidence that skateboards, scooters and rollerblades were invented at least 400 years ago contrary to popular belief although they were forbidden under the laws of the Patroonship.
