ski season 2001/2002
What can be said about ski season
except that it's always too short. That's Andy wailing on down the Mohawk
trail in February. Nice form huh? He's much taller in real life. BIG SHOUT
OUT TO ALL SKI BUDS WHO WE SHARED MAGICAL DAYS, GREAT CONDITIONS AND SUNNY
WEATHER WITH! BroMark, Jack and Jesse who shared the air with the olympians
in February; Sando Commando who staged a most triumphant comeback, provided
safe transport in his spiffy Durango AND took these digital pictures; the
Skipper too (Jaques); Scott who materialized for the first time in 30 years
in excellent style; Jin Hee; Larry..."hey it turned out to be a pretty
nice day after all!" and the Rowe family. ANOTHER BIG SHOUT OUT TO
ALL SKI BUDS WHO WE MISSED THIS SEASON BUT LOOK FORWARD TO SPANKIN' THE
PLANKS WITH NEXT SEASON: UrnZurn; JayBee and Mike who snuck in an eleventh
hour Wasatch pilgrimage of which we're extremely jealous; Dino, Reido, Ray
(ze men); Nacho and brother Andrew who hit the steeps of southern California
in January; Bubs and the goose crew who rule Vermont; Francois (the Michaelangelo
of my haircut) who rests his scissors on Thursdays to carve up the trails
at Hunter.
This season Andy sported a new pair
of Rossignol Vipers, K2
Jacket and crash helmet to protect what's in his skull. The lack of precipitation
here in the east was a disappointment but thanks to the miracle of modern
snowmaking the conditions were OUTSTANDING! Though we've gotta say goodbye
for the summer... here's some links to keep you in the bumps in the off
season:
